Hyde Park

Hyde Park, just north of the University of Texas campus, is Austin's oldest suburb and once hosted the State Fair of Texas. In 1891 it was a remote streetcar suburb, where developer Monroe Shipe created wide, shady streets lined with Victorian and Craftsman houses; the Elisabet Ney Studio and Museum is at 304 E. 44th St.
